WIFTV (formerly Women in Film and Television Vancouver) is a member-based organization committed to creating gender equity in film and television. WIFTV incorporated in 1989 as a not-for-profit society registered in British Columbia. By addressing systemic barriers, we believe we are also working towards more inclusive, representative media.

Producing the annual Vancouver International Women in Film Festival that champions women and gender diverse creators

Providing low-barrier, accessible programming, including mentorship and educational events to increase women and gender diverse participation in screen based media

The People Behind WIFT Vancouver

The WIFT team is made up of a small but dedicated group of staff, board members, and volunteers who share a passion for gender equity in film and television.

WIFT Vancouver is a proud member of the WIFT Canada Coalition, a group of autonomous WIFT chapters across Canada. The coalition includes WIFT Atlantic, Allia Quebec, WIFT Toronto, WIFT Alberta, WIFT Vancouver and Women in View.

WIFT Vancouver is a proud member of Women in Film & Television International, a global network of over 80 chapters, all working for the same goal: gender balance in the industry.
